Network of popular pots demands approval of the law of dining rooms and community centers

Kimberly Samaniego, a member of the Articulation of Popular Pots, in an interview with Universo 970-Nación Media spoke about the bill for kitchens and community centers that must be discussed today in the Senate and pointed out that the proposal was presented in consensus and taking into account account their needs.

The proposal contemplates, as its name suggests, comprehensive assistance to kitchens and community centers throughout the national territory through the provision of the necessary supplies for the preparation of daily meals.

The Ministry of Social Development (MDS) will be the institution in charge of the administration of the resources to comply with this regulation, being in charge of directly acquiring the inputs and supplies for their subsequent delivery to these places.

From the Articulation of Popular Pots they demand the approval without modifications of this law in Congress, since it includes all the points that need to be addressed.

Samaniego said that the dining spaces will also function as community centers to provide support to the community, so there will be school reinforcement, help for students, training and workshops, among others.

Currently, there are 18 soup kitchens that are still active after the pandemic, assisting around 1,000 people, mainly in the wetlands area of ​​Asunción.
