Netanyahu announces its intention to completely occupy the Gaza Strip

The Prime Minister IsraeliBenjamin Netanyahu, convened for this Tuesday a security cabinet meeting with the intention of “going for the total occupation of the Gaza Strip

Netanyahu’s call seeks “a debate about the continuation of the fighting and their expansion to areas where there are hostages. The security forces oppose the maneuvers in places where they are retained, for fear of causing them damage,” says a statement to which the Spanish agency had access EFE.

During the meeting with the Israeli press, the Netanyahu spokesman said: “Luck is cast: we will completely occupy the Gaza Strip,” according to the newspaper YETH AHRONOTH.

Operations in areas with hostages

“There will be operations even in the areas where hostages are found. If the Chief of the General Staff does not agree, he should resign,” he said referring to the Army leader, Eyal Zamir, in view of the opposition of the security estate to this measure.

Already on Monday afternoon the local press announced that Zamir had canceled the visit he had scheduled to the United States and after revealing the intentions of the president, the army responded with a statement in which he announced the cancellation of the extension of the service so far in force of regular terrestrial troops from 2025.

According to the newspaper The Times of Israelcited by EFEthe opposition of the armed forces lies in the concern that the Palestinian militias in Gaza execute the hostages before the advance of the troops (as happened at the end of August 2024 with six captives, found on September 1).

They also consider that destroying Hamas’s framework could take years.

Merchandise in the strip

Meanwhile, the COGAT, Israeli military agency in charge of civil affairs in the occupied territories, announced today that it will allow a “limited number” of local merchants of Gaza to introduce merchandise in the strip to “increase the volume of aid” that access to the enclave, according to a statement.

It is the first time that Israel allows Gazatis merchants to enter Gaza in Gaza since the army broke the fire on March 18, according to the Haaretz newspaper.

The COGAT said that with this measure aims to reduce “the dependence on the collection of aid by the UN and international organizations”, which he accuses of not going to the Gazatí side of the border with Israel to take and distribute the content of the trucks that lead to Gaza.

Meanwhile, these UN agencies and organizations have denounced the risks that run their teams (crossing combat areas) to pick them up, as well as the long waiting times they face in these areas until they receive the green light of the Armed Forces so that their convoys progress.

“Approved products include basic foods, baby food, fruits and vegetables and hygiene items,” Cogat announced.

Deaths due to malnutrition

Decisions to expand the limited flux of enclave help occur after the Gazatí Ministry of Health began announcing dozens of malnutrition deaths daily.

In total, 180 people have died due to causes related to hunger and malnutrition since October 2023, according to health, more than half since July 2025, when the crisis was exacerbated after Israel’s total blockade to food access.

In addition, about 1500 Gazati have lost their lives when they were going to seek humanitarian aid, both at the Distribution points of the GHF, a controversial foundation that operates since May by Israeli initiative, and in the routes that follow the few trucks of the UN and other organizations that manage to access the enclave.

This same Tuesday, the hospitals of the enclave received 25 dead by Israeli fire, of which 14 were people who were about to collect food, according to sources from these health centers, according to EFE.
