Nelson García Mora, mayor of the Zamora municipality in Barinas, died

Nelson García Mora, who died on Saturday, November 16, served as mayor of Ezequiel Zamora since November 2021. He was nominated for the popularly elected position by the Compromiso País (Compa) party.


After suffering from a respiratory and heart condition that kept him in the intensive care unit of a private medical center, the mayor of the Ezequiel Zamora municipality, Nelson García Mora, died in the city of Barinas. The death occurred on Saturday, November 16, in the afternoon.

García Mora, in addition to being a political leader, was a renowned sports announcer and radio broadcaster in the town of Santa Bárbara de Barinas. Throughout the southwestern Andean area, his qualities as a cycling narrator were valued, which allowed him to become known as “the narrator of joy,” he noted. The Pitazo.

Nelson García Mora served as mayor of Ezequiel Zamora since November 2021. He was nominated for the popularly elected position by the Compromiso País (Compa) party.

Councilor Charles Castillo, current president of the Municipal Chamber of the Ezequiel Zamora Municipality, will assume the functions of the Mayor’s Office to complete the management of Nelson García Mora.

The president becomes the second mayor in the state of Barinas who, in recent years, dies in the exercise of his duties. The first was Aníbal Chávez, mayor of the Alberto Arvelo Torrealba municipality, who died on July 17, 2016.
