Neighbors took refuge under the bed during shooting in the Ozama expansion

The shooting that occurred at dawn this Tuesday in the Ozama expansion, in Santo Domingo Este, occurred at 2:30 in the morning and lasted at least half an hour, according to residents of the place. They indicate that the shooting that occurred in the intersection of Jesús de Galindez streets with Octavio Mejía Ricard it was carried out by unknown persons who were traveling aboard a car and one in a truck, which resulted in several bullet wounds.

“I had to get under the bed because there were many shots and it is not known what happened,” said one of the neighbors, recounting that it was a very distressing moment. Another of the residents told Diario Libre that he gets up every morning to walk at 5:00 am, and that he saw “many policemen around a truck and blood”, but that he does not know “if there were deaths there.”

At the scene of the incident, of which the National Police has so far not offered an official version, remains of blood and broken glass remain.
