The neighbors of Ana Josefa Garcia Cuellothe 44-year-old woman who decapitated her six-year-old daughter, are shocked by the tragedy, which occurred in Los Trinitarios, Santo Domingo Este.
Residents of that area told reporters that Ana Josefa “was not like that.” They said that the lady was “a good mother, a good wife and a good neighbor.”
“I really don’t know what happened to her. Everyone here is shocked. We never imagined this would happen,” said a young woman who lives near the mother’s home.
Earlier, the woman alleged: “They haven’t told me anything about the girl.” When approached by reporters while being taken to the National Police Palace, the mother, who is also a first lieutenant in the Army and a doctor, asked: “Who found the girl?”.
However, at the time of publication of this note, the reasons that caused Ana Josefina to kill her own daughter in this way are unknown.
“She decapitated her. She took the head to the bathroom and the body was left in the kitchen area,” Police spokesman Diego Pesqueira said earlier.
