67.2% of that figure is represented in three markets: Canada (252,650), Cubans residing abroad (51,187) and the United States (24,451).
According to informationarrivals from the traditional markets of Europe maintain low figures due to the non-recovery of long-distance trips and the insufficiency of air connections, in addition to other causes not mentioned.
In this way, the flow of visitors from this region remained the same. taking into account country and number of arrivals: United Kingdom (13,596), Germany (13,585), France (13,103), Italy (11,373), Spain (10,613) and Russia (20,589).
For the first five days of the current month of March, which represents the month of maximum tourist arrivals for Cuba, only 470 flights will land at Cuban international airports, according to cubadebate.
Meanwhile, 12,180 visitors arrived by sea; of these, 3,794 boat crew members.
Cuba registers a notable increase in international tourists so far in 2022
In statements collected by the Cuban News Agency (ACN) from Artemisa, the Minister of Economy and Planning Alejandro Gil Fernández Said yesterday that tourism has not yet recovered with the required speed.
The Cuban Government intends to receive this year some 3.5 million touristsdouble the number that arrived in the country in 2022.
