Almost five million people mobilized throughout the country and spent more than 45,000 million pesos during the Easter holidaywhich represented almost 18% more than in the same period of 2021, according to a report prepared by the Argentine Confederation of Medium-sized Enterprises (CAME).

The CAME detailed that “the Easter holiday left a balance of 2,612,000 tourists and another 2,350,800 hikers who toured more than 1,000 cities in Argentina and are part of the national tourist circuit, with an expense of $45,101.3 million when adding the excursionists, an amount that at constant prices meant a growth of 91.1% compared to the same celebration in 2021”.

Most of the accommodations had full occupancy, “despite the increase in the para-hotel offer last year, to which was added the return of international tourists and events and festivities were activated at 100%,” highlighted the report of CAME

During the long Easter holiday “37.5% more tourists and 1.4% more hikers traveled,” CAME said, while the average stay increased by 10% “and daily spending grew considerably, beyond the effect inflation”.

“With an average stay of 3.3 days and a daily per capita expenditure of $4,610, the 2.6 million tourists spent $39,736 million over the weekend, including lodging, transportation, food and other expenses”, so compared to In 2021, consumption at constant prices rose 107.7%, said the SME entity.

Also, the report highlights that Argentinian airlines transported more than 300,000 passengers over the weekend, breaking the 2018 record, which had been historic.
