According to the report, 28 operations of this type have already been carried out during 2022, through which a total of 1,459 citizens have returned to Cuba from the Aztec nation.
Meanwhile, the United States Coast Guard service returned this Friday to 47 irregular migrants through the Port of Orozco, in Mariel, in the 55th operation of this type in the current year. In this way, 1,640 people have been returned to the country, the Minint note specifies.
The Cuban immigration authorities assured that in 2022, 99 air and sea operations have been carried out, in which 4,361 irregular migrants have returned to the island, who have received “health care corresponding to established international protocols” before traveling to their places. of residence.
The Minint’s own statement reiterated its commitment to “orderly and safe migration” and insisted on the dangers that irregular migration represents, “in which many are exposed to dangerous situations.”
