Engineer Alfredo Barrera, director of Territorial Operations for the company Edemet Edechi, refers to illegal connections in Western Panama, pruning and maintenance. Pruning is carried out daily in the 30 thousand kilometers of network.
He specified that inspections are carried out on foot and are taken digitally to record in their databases. He said that the exposure of cables to vegetation is not compatible.
He explained that they have carried out 170 thousand inspections to detect illegal electrical connections in Western Panama. He said that illegal connections generate fluctuations that affect legal customers.
Barrera explained that the company Naturgy, in compliance with the law, will reimburse the 14 million fine, applied by ASEP, on customers’ bills.
