He national government updated the Natural Gas Production Declaration for the period 2025–2034with technical adjustments in strategic fields of the country that, according to the Ministry of Mines and Energythey do not compromise the catering nor the energy security.
Technical adjustments in key fields
He Ministry of Mines and Energy issued the Resolution 02320 of 2025with which it modifies the Natural Gas Production Declaration to reflect changes in the committed production volumes and in the offer available for sale.

The update includes information reported by Ecopetrol SA over the fields Cupiagua and South Pautoas well as for Sierracol Energy Andina in the field The Cira–Infantas. According to the mining portfolio, the adjustments respond mainly to the gas release which had been reserved for own consumptionafter maintenance rescheduling in the Barrancabermeja Refinery and in thermal plants of the country.
Government rules out risks in supply
He Minister of Mines and Energy, Edwin Palmapointed out that the measure seeks to improve the sector planning and offer greater clarity to the market. “This update shows that the country has information clear and reliable on its natural gas production,” he stated.
Palma insisted that the objective is to guarantee supply and avoid distortions in the market. “Our purpose is guarantee supplystop the speculation and give peace of mind to homesto the transport already industry“, said.
Application of changes and energy security
The head of the portfolio explained that the modifications have no retroactive effects and are applied from the month in which they are officializedaccording to the current regulations.
“The energy security is a priority of national government. That is why we act with technical rigordefending the public interest and ensuring that the natural gas reaches all Colombians in a timely manner,” added the minister.
