The delegate of the potato section of the wholesale market ExMalteria Lima, César de la Cruz Ramos, said that potatoes are scarce and also that prices have increased. Before, up to 20 trucks of potatoes entered the wholesale market daily, but now only 4 to 5 trucks enter. One of the items affected are the tourist and recreational restaurants that buy native potatoes for the daily sale of typical dishes and now they have no way to supply them.

In the Miguel Sotelo market, before they sold for 1.40 soles per kilo and now they sell for 2.50 per kilo. While the Peruvian potato is S / 5.50 soles. Now that the price has risen, housewives have decreased their purchases of the product, they barely carry 1 to 2 kilos when before they bought between 5 and 10 kilos for the week.
