On the 49th anniversary of the coup d’état of June 27, 1973, the National Party chose to broadcast a series of videos in which young whites speak out.

In one of the testimonies, the young Aparicio Saravia expresses that the whites are proud of the historical behavior of the Party that has always been, behind the leadership of Wilson Ferreira Aldunate, the guardian of the democratic and institutional stability of the country.

“This behavior is reflected in his speech in the Coordinator of the Cerrito and in the speech of June 27, 1973 in Parliament. We define ourselves as irreconcilable enemies of the dictatorship, of any dictatorship. Never again”, indicates Saravia.

On that night, Wilson Ferreira Aldunate said: “And before leaving the Chamber, they will allow me to throw the name of their most radical and irreconcilable enemy, who will be, without a doubt, the avenger of the Republic, on the face of the perpetrators of this attack. . Long live the National Party!”

For her part, Victoria Casulo also recalls, through another video, Ferreira Aldunate’s speech, which was “full of nobility,” and which represented “the muffled cry of a people who saw their electoral, political, and civil rights violated. . A total subjugation of individual freedoms”.
