This Monday the National Youth Congress 2023 began in the Ali Primera Park in Caracas, to finalize the construction of the Great Venezuela Youth Mission, a proposal formulated by President Nicolás Maduro.
For two days, and after a broad debate in the municipalities and the 24 states of the country, in which elected sectoral and territorial delegatesthe young people will reflect on various topics to materialize the approach made by the Head of State just a month ago during the act of commemoration of the 209 years of the Battle of La Victoria and Youth Dayin the Miraflores Palace.
On that occasion, the national President ratified that the Great Venezuela Youth Mission will be carried out, with the aim of doing more for education, culture, sports, entrepreneurship and housing.
He stressed that it has to be a broad call, without exclusion, with all the young people of the country.
Technological process
During the intervention this Monday at the National Youth Congress, the Minister for Education, Yelitze Santaella, stressed the role of education and technology from the perspective of young people.
“We must know what are the potentialities of the territory and what is the function of the school as an epicenter and we have a third element that is the curriculum, in which the subjects that a young person must take to talk about decolonizing are evaluated, from the educational perspective,” he said.
Likewise, he said that the current challenge of joining a new technological and digital age must be taken into account.
Santaella stressed that the use of technology must be understood critically and not in a perverted way, taking into account how it influences young people and can divert them from the educational horizon and from being a good citizen.
The subject of sovereignty should also be touched upon, in which the young person understands the magnitude of history and how to get involved in the processes experienced in the country to guarantee a “sovereign and independent” homeland.

At the beginning of the debates, the member of the Youth of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (JPSUV) and Minister for Ecosocialism, Josué Lorca, highlighted that young people today live a different reality in which Commander Chávez made them the protagonists of the history.
“Chávez arrived and transformed reality, today’s youth have other struggles and they must be worked on. They have ministers who accompany them and listen, making these congresses to work what needs to be worked on, ”he added.
Six work tables
“In this congress we are going to work according to the needs of the youth, that is why we developed six work groups for this transition process,” added Minister Lorca.
These work tables will address topics such as: education, science and technology; sport, recreation and physical activity; culture and party; entrepreneurship, employment and agriculture; politics, volunteering and community; and social protection plus family development.

The sectoral vice president for Social and Territorial Socialism, Mervin Maldonadoreported that last Friday, March 10, a meeting was held with the youth high command, during which the processes that took place in the meetings in the territories were reviewed, he said on his Twitter account.
“We reviewed the entire process of sectoral and territorial debates, we are prepared so that from March 12 to Tuesday, March 14, this great congress and this great mission will be born,” he said.
Among the topics of debate in the pre-Congress meetings were the strengthening of education, agricultural production, sports, housing and entrepreneurship for young people, among others.
