When will the road block be?
He national strike is scheduled for Monday, November 24 and will consist of stopping the transportation of cargo from its point of origin, as a sign of solidarity between producers and transporters, as well as through road blockades.
During an assembly held the previous Sunday, the organizations agreed that “the form of struggle will once again be the roads,” which implies interrupting the transit of goods in different parts of the country.
They will only block cargo units, but impacts to traffic are expected
The leaders clarified that The circulation of private vehicles or passenger transport will not be prevented.since the main purpose is to affect the transit of cargo trucks as a measure of economic pressure on the federal government.
Although only loading units are planned to be blocked, these actions could affect traffic in general and cause significant delays on major highways and roads.
They also confirmed that customs will be seized at borders and strategic points, an action that they described as a “measure of maximum pressure” so that the authorities address their demands “at the highest level.”

What are they protesting against?
The national strike on November 24 seeks to demand attention to the demands of rural producers and transporters, who accuse lack of support, low prices and policies that have left them at an economic disadvantage.
The movement aims for President Claudia Sheinbaum to receive its petition and dialogue directly with the sector.
Among the main complaints are:
– Fairer guaranteed prices for grains such as corn, wheat and sorghum.
– Reactivation of subsidies for diesel, fertilizers and transportation.
– Investment in agricultural infrastructure and roads, key for the transfer of goods.
– Attention to the crisis of small and medium producers, displaced by large corporations.
– Review of import policies, which — they claim — favor foreign products and depress national prices.
The FNRCM estimates the participation of half a million farmers in 25 statesin addition to transporters and cargo operators who will suspend their work in support of the movement.

Road blockades last for several weeks
Two weeks after the mobilizations undertaken by producers from Jalisco, Guanajuato and Michoacán, the road blockades continue as part of the protest of the National Front for the Rescue of the Mexican Countryside.
The former federal deputy of the Labor Party and leader of the Front, Eraclio Rodríguez, pointed out that they reject the subsidy agreed upon between farmers and the federal and state governments.
“We do not consent, we do not share the idea that the countryside continues to be maintained based on subsidies, it is the industrialists who must pay fair prices, the real prices of the products they consume, because at the end of the day the consumer already brings a burden large enough to maintain the internal market and strengthen the food supply channels,” he said.
