The rules for registration and accreditation in the National Registry of Seeds and Seedlings (Renasem) are published in the Official Diary of the Union this Tuesday (1) . Registration is mandatory and all entities involved in the National Seeds and Seedlings System (SNSM) must be previously authorized to carry out their activities. Registration and accreditation are now valid for five years.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAP), the Ordinance 501/22 enters into force today and complies with Decree No. 10,586/2020, which referred to the complementary standard the details, specificities and procedures for carrying out the registration and accreditation in the National System of Seeds and Seedlings (SNSM), as well as for changes and renewals.
“The regulation aims to provide transparency and increase efficiency, mainly, bringing clarity and ease to service users and the technical body on the procedures to be adopted to meet the needs of the National Seeds and Seedlings System”, informed the coordinator- substitute general for Seeds and Seedlings, Leidiane Queiroz.
Renasem is the only registration, valid throughout the national territory. Individuals and legal entities that carry out the activities of production, processing, repackaging, storage, analysis and sale of seeds or seedlings are required to register. In addition, those who carry out the activities of technical responsibility, certification, sampling, collection and analysis of seeds or seedlings must have accreditation.
