A total of 925 regional police officers have been trained since 2018 to date, this security personnel is guided through the Update Seminars on issues related to how to act in the face of any criminal act, in cases of Domestic Violence, Citizen Security programs , on respect for human rights and treatment of the public.
These figures were updated during a room courtesy at the General Congress of the Ngäbe-Buglé region held in the district of Jirondai, province of Bocas del Toro, which was received by the Minister of Public Security Juan Manuel Pino, and the director of National Police John Dornheim.
The directors of the Minseg gave details of the advances in security issues that have been implemented in the region.
The head of Public Security pointed out that from 2018 to date, 925 regional police officers have been trained.
“These trainings aim to strengthen the multidisciplinary knowledge of these men and women who make up the regional police or Bugo Day, with the mission of safeguarding security within their communities,” explained Minister Pino.
For her part, the president of the General Committee of the Region, Juliana Santiago, thanked the National Police for the support provided in the training to the regional units, which provide security in the communities in the face of any situation that arises.
Meanwhile, Commissioner Aníbal Correa, general director of teaching, in charge of teaching of the National Police, indicated that in 2018 425 regional police officers were trained, in 2019 there were 50 and so far this year 450.
“This year the trainings have been carried out in the districts of Besiko, Mirona, Kankintú, Kusapín, Nole – Duima and Münä”, added Correa.
During his visit to the Ngäbe-Buglé region, Minister Juan Manuel Pino delivered sports equipment for boys and girls from the region, as part of the commitment to prevention issues in the communities.
