National Police have arrested 130 people for sexual crimes so far in 2023

The National Police maintains operational and judicial actions together with the Public Prosecutor’s Office in search of more sexual offenders required by the various modalities of crimes against Sexual Liberty and Integrity.

So far in 2023, 130 people have been apprehended, mostly male, who have been linked to investigations for acts of Carnal Rape, Attempted Rape, Libidinous Acts, Consensual Sexual Relations and Corruption of Minors.

These apprehensions are carried out at the national level through the National Directorate of Judicial Investigation (DIJ) in coordination with the Public Ministry, removing these aggressors who threaten the integrity of minors from circulation.

The Division of Sexual Crimes of the DIJ urges the population that if they know of any sexual act, file a complaint immediately with the National Police on line 104, and with the Public Ministry.
