National Police arrest five for different crimes

The National Police reported on Monday the arrest of five men, who allegedly separately committed different crimes, such as swindle with counterfeit money, assault on public roads and Stole.

One of the imprisoned is Francisco Miguel Pena Guzman, who was arrested, according to the institution, in flagrante delicto when he was about to pay the sum of 14,500 false pesos for the purchase of alcoholic beverages in a commercial establishment in Azua.

“At the time of being requisitioned, the individual was seized 500 false pesos and a wallet containing two identity cards inside, with the same name and a driver’s license card,” the Police detailed.

Both the defendant and the occupied were placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry for the purposes of the place.

In San Francisco de Macoris, municipality of the Duarte province, was arrested Sharon Manuel García Burgo and/or Carlos Manuel García Burgo (a) Charo32, accused of being the person who approached a taxi driver to allegedly pick up other people in the Olympic Village and on the way told the driver of the vehicle that it was an assault, depriving him of the sum of 2,300 pesos.

“The detainees seized the stolen motorcycle and a 20-inch-long dagger,” the police said.

According to the police report, when questioned by the investigators, both said that the stolen motorcycles are taken to Navarrete, Santiago and sold to a man, already identified by the Police, who later transports them in a jeep to the Dajabón province to market them to Haitian nationals who then pass them across the border into their country.
