Barahona – The regional and sports directors of the National Police, General Claudio González Moquete and Jacobo Mateo Moquete, held a meeting with neighborhood sports leaders to offer details about the race “Barahona runs” In its modalities of 5 and 10 kilometers, scheduled for Sunday, October 12.
The meeting was held at the Barahona Malecon, where both authorities toured the routes that the participants will cover and stressed that the event will be attended by Major General Ramón Antonio Guzmán Peralta, General Director of the National Police.
General Mateo Moquete positively valued the support that various local authorities have already expressed, both from the public and private sphere, highlighting that this type of activities strengthens the links between the National Police and the communities.
The meeting was attended by recognized figures of neighborhood sport such as Juana Féliz, Vidalin Cuevas (Chichí), Michael Otaño, Víctor Suero, José Valenzuela, José Gómez and Michael Borbón, upper basketball player and director of a sports academy for young people.
Sports representatives come from clubs and active leagues in sectors such as the beach, Villa Estela, Pueblo Nuevo, Enriquillo, Baitoíta, La Caobita, Villa Central, Palmarito and Villa Olympic, among other popular neighborhoods of Barahona.
Mateo Moquete thanked the enthusiasm shown by the community leaders, who immediately integrated into the organization of the event.
“Barahona runs” thus becomes the seventh installment of the community races promoted by the National Police in different cities of the country, consolidating these events as spaces for healthy coexistence, sport and citizen integration.
