The National Police reported that it carried out the Phishing Operation, with the development of more than 60 simultaneous search procedures in sectors of the provinces of Panama, Panama Oeste and Colón, mostly concentrated in the province of Panama, in sectors of Panama East, metropolitan area and the district of San Miguelito.
The Phishing Operation seeks to dismantle a criminal structure dedicated to the commission of crimes against the Economic Order in its modality of Financial Crimes and Money Laundering, these acts through the modality of Phishing.
According to the investigations carried out by the judicial authorities, there are at least 36 victims whose bank funds were stolen and diverted to other accounts, causing an economic impact for society of 300 thousand dollars.
