THE OPERATION SHAMARto combat violence against women, already account for 387 arrests of authors of femicide and domestic violence between August 1, when the action began, and at 12 noon this Thursday (7). In the period, 2,518 victims were attended and 314 urgent protective measures were requested. 
The operation of the Federal Government takes place throughout the national territory and has 16,508 security agents.
This Thursday (7), when the “day of the national mobilization to combat violence against women occurred, the Maria da Penha Law Anniversarywhich completes 19 years of its promulgation. The actions of the operation continue until September 4th.
The result of the operation was released by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP). The total investment, of R $ 2 million, occurred through the contribution of daily and military police officers to travel to comply with warrants for search and seizure and arrest of accused of femicide and domestic violence, especially where there is no specialized police station.
With the appeal, educational actions to prevent cases of aggression were also promoted due to gender, such as lectures and pamphleting, reaching 382,114 people.
The action was coordinated by the Directorate of Integrated and Intelligence Operations (Diopi), the National Secretariat of Public Security (Senasp), MJSP, and was adhered to the 26 states and the Federal District. Diligence occurred in 335 municipalities.
São Paulo
The Civil Police of the State of São Paulo carried out an operation on Thursday to comply with hundreds of arrest warrants against authors of domestic violence. The action was part of Operation Shamar.
“The operation is a response from the Civil Police to the crimes of domestic violence. We are uniting forces to show that the woman is not alone and that the state is by her side to protect her,” said delegate Adriana Liporoni, coordinator of the state of Sao Paulo Women’s Defense Police stations.
Rio de Janeiro
In Rio de Janeiro, the Secretariat of Public Security, with the staff of the Civil and Military Police, held, on Thursday (7), a national task force focused on facing violence against women. By the end of the afternoon, 94 criminals were arrested for serving arrest warrants throughout the state of Rio. In one case, the aggressor beat his eight -month -old wife until death.
Operation Shamar, which began on August 1, has so far registered more than 210 arrests by the Civil Police and the Military Police in Rio de Janeiro.
