For 30 days, from July 17 to August 15, the National Public Security Force will support the National Indian Foundation (Funai) in the Parakanã Indigenous Land, in Pará. The ordinance of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP), authorizing the measure, is published in this Thursday’s edition (14) of the Official Diary of the Union.
According to the document, the military will act in the services of preservation of public order and the security of people and property, on an episodic and planned basis. “The contingent to be made available will obey the planning defined by the board of the National Force, of the National Public Security Secretariat, of the MJSP”.
Ordinance emphasizes, in one of its articles, that the use of the National Force will occur in articulation with the public security agencies of Pará, under the coordination of the Federal Police.
The Parakanã Indigenous Land is home to more than 20 villages and is located in the municipalities of Novo Repartimento and Itupiranga. It was approved on October 30, 1991.
