The authorities of the Ministry of Agricultural Development, at the request of the Department of Animal Health, decided to declare a State of Emergency throughout the country, due to the increase in cases of the Livestock Screwworm.
Minister Augusto Valderrama urged all farmers to be vigilant against any disease in their animals and to treat the wounds that they present to avoid the spread of this disease.
He said they will release sterile flies to combat this outbreak.
