National Electoral Council of Ecuador last technical details for Sunday elections

The National Electoral Council (CNE) of Ecuador will complete on Saturday the distribution of ballots and electoral material so that tomorrow the voters decide between two different models of government.

On the left, the lawyer and assemblyman Luisa González, candidate of the Citizen Revolution, a political party led by former president Rafael Correa, and who today seeks revenge after losing in the early elections of 2023.

On the right, Daniel Noboa, entrepreneur and son of one of the richest families in Ecuador and the current president. He assumed power 14 months ago to end on the former president’s period Guillermo Lasso. Today seeks to govern a complete four -year mandate.

The electoral process of this April 13 will be disputed vote to vote and both the citizen revolution and the political movement official National Democratic Action (DNA) will deploy 92,000 delegates to carry out control of the suffrage and avoid irregularities.

Surveys and analysts predict very close elections, a result of a divided society.

The country is going through a wave of violence that goes from 2025 left around 1,500 violent deaths.
