The National Election Jury (JNE) declared founded the request for the annulment of the vote at a polling station in the district of Cocachacra. The polling station members mistakenly placed the total votes in the minutes. This fact harmed Hugo Palomino, candidate for district mayor of Cocachacra – Islay, for Arequipa Let’s Advance.
The JNE decided to consider the 81 votes for Arequipa Let’s advance, 66 for Together for the Development of Arequipa, and zero for Fuerza Arequipeña. With this modification, Hugo Palomino is elected.
The representative of Avancemos, requested the annulment of the vote of the district election of Cocachacra in the polling station No. 008689, under the cause of fraud and argued that the results of the scrutiny consigned by the members of this would have been replaced by other figures.
He explained that Arequipa Let’s Advance, Together for the Development of Arequipa and Fuerza Arequipeña originally they would have obtained 81, 66 and 0 votes respectively; however, in the electoral act, they register 0, 81 and 66.
