National Commission refines strategies to address cases of violence against women

With the aim of fine-tuning mechanisms to make the administration of justice more effective in cases of violence against women, the National Commission on Gender Justice of the Judiciary held a meeting via telematics with the coordinators of the circuits with jurisdiction in this area of ​​all the states of the country.

The meeting was led by the vice president of the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice and Coordinator of the National Gender Justice Commission of the Judiciary, Judge Lourdes Benicia Súarez Anderson, who urged the gender violence coordinators to speed up the different pending processes, which allow for the effective materialization of what is contemplated in the Organic Law on the Right of Women to a life free of violence.

In addition, aspects such as the venues pending to be inaugurated and their staff, the current status of the cases in the control, trial and execution phase and the formation of the interdisciplinary teams were also addressed.

These meetings occur as part of the Judiciary’s commitment to provide the necessary tools and support to trial judges to strengthen their work and ensure timely and equitable justice for victims of violence.
