The board of directors of the National College of Pharmacists (Conalfarm), referred this Thursday to the pilot plan called “MedicSol”, which aims to guarantee medicines to the insured.
The president of Conalfarm, Jaime Olive, pointed to the citation of the American Convention on Human Rights that indicates that “any assistance service or economic bonus must be universal in scope and not exclusive of the benefits of users.”
He indicated that access to medicines is intrinsically linked to the principles of equality and non-discrimination, transparency, participation and responsibility in the supply and continuous access to good quality medicines, in an affordable and timely manner.
“When, as a result of dissatisfaction due to the high demand and little response to the patient’s precarious conditions, partial solution mechanisms in coverage and temporary benefits alternate, such as the so-called MedicSol (Solidarity medicine), the minimum that these interventions emerging administrative, they can be asked, is that they do not come to be, the remedy is worse than the disease, “said the manager.
He pointed out that this selectively restricted benefit aggravates the bottleneck and overloads the precarious and chronic resolution capacity of the computer systems, SIS of the National Directorate of Information Technology with the X-FARMA application, applying poor support at the central level, which produces a lot of pressure on pharmaceutical staff.
“State pharmacies are designed for direct dispensing care, not to overload other activities of the administration, linked to deficiencies in planning, acquisition, distribution of the processes of supply of medicines and other health supplies. We have insisted that the problem is not legal, it is purely administrative,” added Olive.
The president of Conalfarm asked users for understanding, that when requesting the pharmacy service, they show empathy to avoid situations due to the shortage of medicines.
“We do everything possible so that, at the local level, users receive the best care, but the authorities do not assume their administrative role, rather their political image is more important to them,” Olive pointed out.
