NATIONAL CALL FOR MISS DEL CAMPO COLOMBIA starts

With an invitation loaded with dignity, pride and recognition, Colombia welcomes an unprecedented event: Miss from the Colombia Campo, An initiative of the Jorge Lozano Foundation that will travel market places to make visible the true wealth of our country: peasant women and popular merchants, those who with their work hold food, local economy and cultural tradition.

This contest does not seek to crown the highest or the thinnest woman. Here, The true crown will be carried out by the most inspiring life story, the woman who proudly represents the field, the kitchen, the sales stand, the home and the tradition. Participants will not be professional models, but real women: fruit vendors, farmers, cooks, florists … women who have worked their way between sweat, resilience and love for land.

The original crown is a unique jewel created in Mompox by expert artisans. It is composed of emeralds, sapphires, rubies, pearls of San Andrés, diamonds, trapiches of Muzo and Coscués, cat eyes, friagons, coffee pepas, cobs and chicheperros chili pepper. Although this piece will not be delivered to the winner, she will receive a replica of this jewel, as a symbol of the legacy she represents.

The contest begins its national tour from the Caribbean coast, where the call will open for women working from the market places to send a video with their history: Who are, where do they come from, what dreams they have. This will be the first stop of a tour that will travel the main squares of the country, with a grand final scheduled for October 4 in the Paloquemao Market Square in Bogotá.

Awards

The awards that the queen, the princess and the second princess will receive are composed of economic incentives, jewels and replicas of the crown:
