National Assembly passed Law against Corruption

The National Assembly approved this Thursday the reform of the Decree with Rank, Value and Force of Law Against Corruption.

The president of the Legislative Power, Jorge Rodríguez, explained that the purpose of said Law “is to be rigorously complied with, to be forcefully complied with, so that the necessary firmness is complied with in the care of goods and public service. ”.

For her part, the first vice president of the AN, deputy Iris Varela, in her speech pointed out the need to incorporate a derogatory provision, given that the national parliament is devoted to drafting the new Organic Penal Code. In this sense, some norms were detected, criminal types, which must go to the codification, the State channel reviewed.

“Consequently, we already propose by consensus a single transitory provision in the following terms: the criminal types contained in this Law will be subject to codification, without this implying the alteration of the spirit, purpose, reason of this Law and will maintain its The new Venezuelan Organic Criminal Code is in force to be sanctioned, ”said Varela.

The legal text had been consigned and elaborated by the Permanent Commission of the Comptrollership of the Parliament, chaired by the deputy Alexis Rodríguez Cabello.

The law was promoted in response to the need to accompany the efforts of the Venezuelan State against the scourge of corruption.
