National Assembly: July 5 fortifies the patriotic moral foundations

AN: 05 de julio se fortifican los cimientos morales y se fortalece la democracia

“Today we have the commitment to maintain the sacred fire of fortifying the moral foundations, to strengthen democracy, which generates the greatest amount of happiness possible for the Venezuelan people”, announced the deputy Gloria Castillo, who read the Act of Independence of Venezuela, during the beginning of the solemn session of the National Assembly (AN), from the Protocol Chamber.

During her speech, Deputy Castillo highlighted: “Today we have a free and independent homeland. 212 years ago a nation based on republican principles was established. Statements he made in connection with the celebration of the 212th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of Venezuela on July 5, a day that began with the hoisting of the national tricolor, a floral offering to the Father of the Nation in the National Pantheon, which will culminate with the military civic parade, from Los Próceres, in the city of Caracas.

In this sense, the president of the AN, Jorge Rodríguez, highlighted “to all good Venezuelans, from the patriotic heart we say to each woman and man who builds the country, congratulations, happy Independence Day people of Venezuela. Thank you for bringing from the distance of time the words of our freedom, of our birth as a free, sovereign and independent homeland. It seems that it had been written from the recent battles that we have waged for life and independence”.

For his part, Deputy William Castillo, who served as speaker of order, stated that the Act of Independence is a foundational document and of historical record, which highlights that Venezuela is a “Homeland that wants to live free and in peace in its own way. 200 years later, the birth of Venezuelanness is important. On July 5, the path of Venezuelans changed forever.”

Castillo reported that “that embryonic gesture of July 5 expressed our firm will to live as free men and women. It must be said: our fight for freedom is traversed by the resistance and struggle of the Venezuelan people.”

Earlier, from the gardens of the Federal Legislative Palace, an act was held on the occasion of Independence Day, where the authorities made a tour to observe the different artistic expressions of Venezuelan culture.

Likewise, in the Elliptic Hall of the Federal Legislative Palace, the opening ceremony of the Ark that contains the books of the Supreme Congress of the Republic of 1811 was held, which protects the Independence Actactivity led by the Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez.
