The president of the Venezuelan parliament, Jorge Rodríguez, announced that the National Assembly will assume its support for the recovery of schools and the central hospital of Las Tejerías-
Such a statement was made by Deputy Rodríguez who, together with the parliamentarians who are members of the Special Commission of the National Assembly (AN) for the Support and Comprehensive Care of Families Affected by the rains in Las Tejerías, Aragua state; carried out this Thursday a tour for the verification and evaluation of the recovery works of the community.
“We are willing to contribute so that the National Assembly is in charge of the recovery of the Las Tejerías school or the Hospital that is on the Regional Highway in the center,” Rodríguez said.
Likewise, the president of the National Assembly highlighted the work carried out by the national government, as well as the Venezuelan people, together with the Bolivarian National Armed Forces for the recovery of Las Tejerías.
Rodríguez, accompanied by deputies Ricardo Molina, Nicolás Maduro Guerra, Pedro Carreño, Rodbexa Poleo, Pedro Infante, Luis Eduardo Martínez and Oscar Ronderos, among other members of the special commission, delivered to the authorities of the Las Tejerías command posts the donations received at the collection center enabled in the AN, which were transferred and consigned in place by a group of legislative workers.
He recalled that the administrative headquarters of the National Assembly has served as a collection center for all those who wish to contribute to care for those affected.
Rodríguez commented that the National Assembly contributed drinking water and non-perishable food for the affected population.
“We wanted to contribute a grain of sand, in this first installment we focused on drinking water and canned food,” he stressed.
On the other hand, he pointed out that they will propose that all the deputies, belonging to the Aragua state, carry out guards at the Command Center installed in Las Tejerías, until the community is recovered.
“We are arranging for the deputies of Aragua to stand guard. Be absolutely certain that the Government will not rest until Las Tejerías is recovered. We are not going to move, we are not going to leave, until Las Tejerías, which has been deeply affected by the natural tragedy, is recovered,” he added.
The deputy promised to keep the commission on guard at the scene. He made reference to the schedule that the deputy Nicolás Maduro Guerra will fulfill, which includes all night this Thursday.
So far, the death toll from the landslide that occurred in Las Tejerías, after an unusual rainy season throughout the national territory, is 43 people, while 56 people remain missing and serious damage has been reported in 800 homes.
