National Assembly installs Venezuela-Guatemala Parliamentary Friendship Group

Grupo de Amistad Parlamentaria Venezuela-Guatemala instaló Asamblea Nacional

The National Assembly (AN) installed this Wednesday the Venezuela-Guatemala Parliamentary Friendship Group, from the living room Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda of the Federal Legislative Palace.

At the end of the event, the president of the instance, deputy José Cabellos Reinales, He reiterated that the members of this friendship group, as ambassadors of peace, will have the mission of promoting dialogue, strengthening legislative activity between both nations and continuing the work in defense of peace, as has been done for more than 200 years.

«Today the possibility opens up for two brother peoples to meet. “Venezuela is ready to help a brother people in Central America,” said the deputy.

The parliamentary friendship group, from now on, is structured as follows: in addition to its president and the representative of the opposition in the vice presidency, the deputy Francisco Martínez; the deputy Bussy Galeano; Humberto Berroterán (MUD/National), Mark Mendoza and Juliana Ruiz. The secretariat was in charge of Sonia Rodríguez.

CELAC-EU Summit

About the next IV Summit of the Latin American and Caribbean Community with the European Union, CELAC-EU 2025whose pro tempore presidency will be assumed by Colombia, Congressman Cabellos Reinales pointed out that now more than ever Latin America and the Caribbean must remain united. “Not only at a work table, but in the consolidation of common objectives that aim at the development and well-being of their people,” he pointed out.

Meanwhile, the deputy Numa Jaramillo (El Cambio/Dtto. Capital) confirmed that peace is and will be the commitment of the opposition faction within Parliament. Jaramillo explained that the group will work at those meeting points with the Guatemalan nation, in order to present to the CELAC-EU a united Latin American people who, as brother countries, work together for peace.

The representative of the Vice Ministry for Latin America, Irene Rondón Graterolcelebrated the installation of this parliamentary group because it demonstrates not only strict compliance with the guidelines of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, but also the will to strengthen relations with all the peoples of Central America.
