The National Assembly, of an official majority, approved on Thursday 18 an agreement where the “threats and repeated provocations” of the United States, which maintains a military deployment in the Caribbean for anti -drug operations for two weeks.
In ordinary session, during the beginning of the second legislative period of the year, the deputies supported by majority the creation of the “Council in defense of sovereignty and peace”, opened by Nicolás Maduro two days ago, as well as the promotion to the regional chapters of this initiative.
The parliamentarians pointed out the Council as a “space for the promotion of truth, the defense of the homeland and the shelter of territorial integrity against interference and threat by the US military forces.”
The first vice president of the AN, Pedro Infante (PSUV), called to “build a great diplomatic force” among all Venezuelans, whom he urged to “denounce the warrior claims” of the “empire.”
“It is necessary, it is obligation, it is a conscious duty to defend the right to peace, to sovereignty, to territorial integrity and the self -determination of our people,” he said.

On the other hand, the plenary also approved another agreement where Israel’s recent attack is rejected, whom Deputy Nancy Atencio called “the world’s greatest genocides,” against Hamas Cells in Qatar.
The draft Law of the Treaty of Strategic Association and Cooperation between Venezuela and the Russian Federation was also approved in the first discussion. In this regard, Deputy Roy Daza (PSUV) said that it seeks to “ensure that cooperation and solidarity is in the long term, that is, we are not talking about a situation, something of a moment.”
“We have the right to peace, coexistence, to trade and the fair relations between nations,” he insisted.
