Amazon Day, September 5, was celebrated on Friday by National Radio of the Amazonvehicle of Brazil Communication Company (EBC), With an action that will be in the memory of 120 students from the Educational Center 04 (CED 04) of Taguatinga, in the Federal District. For 10 minutes, they participated in an immersion of virtual reality in 3D glasses to watch the movie Living Amazon, which is an environmental education project of the interreligious initiative by tropical forests in Brazil (IRI-Brazil).
Amid multiple reactions, from laughter to tears, most students translated this experience into beautiful drawings and declarations of love to nature.
Under the impact of the trip he made on the heart of the Amazon during the video, Kelvin Juan Nunes, for example, said: “The part that caught my attention was when we were going up and saw the size of the giant tree: Sumaúma. I’m drawing here.”
Already Arthur Malena de Souza said she was thrilled with everything in immersion: “This is the first time that happens to me. I expected to see scary and dangerous things, like the jaguar and alligator, but no. It was a trip to the most beautiful places, right? Starting with the toucan. Then I will write, on the back of the drawing sheet, ‘Live the Amazon’!
Ana Carolina didn’t contain himself either: “I loved this experience, but I was a little scared with that giant tree, where the indigenous came out. I think her name is Raquel Tupinambá. She is beautiful, right? Do you know what scared me? When she started dancing.”

As Ana Carolina, some children scared and even shouted, but for Daniel Souza Vicente, photography assistant of the film, this reaction is recurring.

It’s not even about ecology and sociobiodiversity necessarily, but about fear expressed together, when we see the reaction of people around us, and how we internalize certain things that are sometimes just a movie. cherishing them.
Daniel claims to be grateful daily to the film’s director, Estevão Ciavatta, Chico, and the whole team of the film, because he has been able to do a work that generates self -esteem in the face of the immensity of the forest. “
“In addition, this work reinforces the need to guarantee the right of so many people who do not even have access to a movie theater, a culture space. Amazon in the Pedagogical Project

This 3D trip was the first time I see them, so emotional. “
Asked about the unfolding of the experience, Lisiane Teixeira said she will work a project to appreciate the Amazon and other states as well.
“They are making drawings, we will do newsrooms, and we will preach through the school murals to do an exhibition for parents to participate too.”
