National Accreditation Test

More than 3,700 people accredited their knowledge in Integrated Basic Education, in 2024

The National Administration of Public Education (ANEP) presented the 2024 results of the fifth edition of the National Accreditation Test for Integrated Basic Education aimed at citizens and residents over 21 years of age who have not attended or completed Basic Secondary Education. In this edition, 11,690 registrations were registered, 6,204 people showed up to take the test and 60% passed.

The results of the National Accreditation Test were presented by the president of the ANEP, Virginia Cáceres; the director of the Research, Evaluation and Statistics Division, Andrés Peri, and the head of the Learning Department, Adrián Silveira. In addition, the counselors Juan Gabito were present; Dora Graziano and Julián Mazzoni; among other educational authorities. Certificates were later delivered to the students who passed the course.

The fifth edition of AcreditaEBI was held in person at educational centers throughout the country and online, with the support of Ceibal. 11,690 registrations were registered from citizens and/or residents in the country, over 21 years of age. who completed Primary Education and who, for different reasons, did not enter or complete Basic Secondary Education.

The test, prepared by the technical teams of the Research, Evaluation and Statistics Division (DIEE) of the ANEP, proposed activities and situations to be resolved based on the deployment of knowledge and skills that are considered essential for Basic Secondary Education in three areas. of knowledge: problem solving, reading and writing.

In this edition, 3,710 participants passed, out of a total of 6,204 people who applied, which represents 60% of the target population. In the tests, 75.8% obtained a level of proficiency in reading, 16.7% approached proficiency and 7.5% was insufficient. In writing, 67.9% obtained a level of sufficiency, 15.7% approached sufficiency, and 16.4% were insufficient. Regarding problem solving, 54.1% registered a level of sufficiency, 21.9% were close to sufficiency and 24.1% were insufficient.

Cáceres reviewed the evolution of this test that began in 2020 and was consolidated with the implementation of five consecutive editions with a constant growth in the number of registered and approvals.

Likewise, he assured that the evaluation represents a public policy that provides opportunities to a group of people who, for different reasons, were not able to complete their educational cycles. He added that this tool has a very important emotional component for the participants because by presenting themselves they are showing themselves that they can, that there is time and that there are always possibilities.

Finally, he highlighted that the test generates great coordination with other State organizations and organized civil society who collaborate in the preparation of participants to take the exam. He added that the next challenge is to create an instance with similar characteristics for Higher Secondary Education.
