In the midst of questions, Alejandro Narvaez headed his first session as president of the Board of Directors of Petroperuin which César Villanueva, independent director, was present; David Quispe, non-independent director; and Antonio Manosalva, worker representative.
“I assume the appointment with optimism and commitment, starting a new management with great expectations and clear objectives for the benefit of the company and the country,” said Narváez.
Among the agreements made at this meeting, the Board of Directors agreed to entrust the General Management to Óscar Vera Gargurevich. through SMV resolution No. 005-2014-SMV/01.
Vera, the questioned former Minister of Energy and Mines, was nominated for that position, as reported Peru21. He is a chemical engineer and was head of Energy and Mines of Peru, between December 2022 and February 2024 during the government of Dina Boluarte. In fact, it emerged that the head of state wanted him in that position.
It should be remembered that on November 8, when Narváez was confirmed as president of the Petroperú Board of Directors, two members presented their resignation.
