“Today a small plane was shot down to which the required protocol was carried out; there was a protocol. When it was ready to leave Venezuelan territory, action had to be taken; they forced it to land in the state of Apure,” confirmed the Minister of Popular Power for Interior Relations, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, during the program Con el Mazo Dando.
In this sense, he explained that the aircraft was detected while violating Venezuelan airspace and, after complying with the required international and national protocol, it was ordered to descend.
Likewise, he highlighted the intelligence work of the State Security Corps in protecting the entire national territory, as well as for the fight against drug trafficking in the country. In fact, he recalled that so far in 2025, a total of 64,516 kilograms of drugs have been seized, which demonstrates the commitment of the national government to eliminate illegal trafficking of these psychotropic substances.
Neutralization of hostile aircraft
In this context, it is appropriate to mention that another of the organizations that has neutralized hostile aircraft after the attempt to break into Venezuelan airspace has been the Comprehensive Aerospace Defense Command (CODAI), the body in charge of coordinating the protection of air sovereignty, which so far has disabled 24 aircraft, according to recent statements by the FANB’s Strategic Operational Commander, G/J Domingo Hernández Lárez.
