Carlos Javier Chacón Varela, prosecuted for drug trafficking, fled this Friday from the Coro Penitentiary Community, according to military sources.
Chacón Varela left through the area of the workshops and her husband, who was driving a Terios, was waiting for him on the street, where they both left, according to the first versions.
The subject was paying a sentence of 16 years in prison, by order of Trial Court 32 of the Caracas Metropolitan Area.
This man was arrested on August 16, 2020 in one of the entrance roads to Caracas when he was transporting 41 panelas of cocaine, according to a report prepared by the Bolivarian National Police (PNB).
Initially, Chacón Varela was held in the PNB Control and Protection Center for Detainees, located in La Yaguara, Caracas. But he was transferred to the Coro Penitentiary Community on January 28, 2022.
Apparently, this person spent approximately a month rehearsing the way to escape through the area of the prison workshops, located quite a distance from the cells.
Presumably, the director of the aforementioned prison authorized these exits from Chacón Varela to those lands through which he later fled.
