The head of Government of the Capital District, Nahum Fernández, stated that the Venezuelan people in the streets are a guarantee of peace and political stability and, despite the situation that the country is going through, they maintain unity, because “this land is for the brave, for Bolívar and for Chávez.”
During the commemorative event for the 97th Anniversary of the Birth of Fabricio Ojeda, which took place in the Monte Piedad sector of the 23 de Enero parish, Nahum Fernández pointed out that, despite the feeling of sadness over the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and the first lady Cilia Flores, the popular forces will continue to work with determination in the construction of the homeland.
He said that the people remain firm, focused on the three lines dictated by the acting president, Delcy Rodríguez: the preservation of national peace, the release of the presidential couple and achieving economic stability.
On liberations and territorial peace
On the other hand, the head of Government of the Capital District specified that the process of releasing people linked to acts of violence and incitement to hatred – which began last December – has continued in 2026. In this regard, he clarified that these measures respond to a State policy and not to efforts by Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), as some sectors have tried to point out.
In his speech, Fernández rejected the claims of those who seek to harm the nation and stressed the need for concrete actions to guarantee territorial peace.
