The head of the Government of the Capital District, Nahum Fernández, assured that the “Nation Plan 2026” designed by President Nicolás Maduro is being executed in Venezuela. According to Fernández, the president instructed that, in the face of any extreme scenario, the roadmap must be fulfilled prioritizing peace and the economic boost of the country.
«The president called it ‘The 2026 Agenda’ and it is what we continue. As the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, said, we have an agenda already established with the President of the Republic and we are going to execute it,” said Fernández during a mobilization of social movements in Caracas.
Likewise, he stressed that, while this plan is implemented, the people remain mobilized. He highlighted that the national Executive, headed by Rodríguez, carries out the necessary international efforts to stop external attacks and achieve the release of the presidential couple.
Fernández, who is also Secretary of Mobilization of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Puv), highlighted the civility shown by citizens after recent events. «They expected that there would be a civil war in Venezuela; Thank God, it was not like that,” he said.
They demand respect for the sovereignty of Venezuela
Social movements took to the streets to demand that Donald Trump’s administration respect national sovereignty. Carmen Marín, a member of the professional and technical movement, ratified her support for Delcy Rodríguez and rejected foreign interference.
«We are here to demand that Trump respect this country. “We are a free and sovereign nation,” said Marín from Plaza Venezuela, where he also reiterated the call for the prompt release of Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores.
For his part, Kelvin Palacios pointed out that, although the events of January 3 were unexpected, the town is on permanent alert. «We are firm to defend Venezuela. We will never be a colony. We say to Trump: they took us by surprise, but this indignation will keep us in the streets until our president returns,” he said.
Finally, representatives of the working class called on international organizations not to isolate Venezuela. From Plaza Venezuela to Universidad Avenue, protesters waved the national flag with slogans that reflect the official position after the bombing on January 3. The mobilizations continue throughout the national territory, under the premise of continuing the protests until the presidential couple is released.
