In an interview with Expansión, Iván Vicente Cornejo Villalva, director of International Financial Organizations in Nafin, explained that companies with the greatest potential for energy and economic savings are those of the manufacturing, textile, hotel, food and drinks sector, as well as suppliers of the automotive industry.
“We could reduce the equivalent of replacing 160,000 vehicles during each year,” he said.
62% of greenhouse gas emissions come from the generation and use of energy, according to the National Institute of Ecology and Climate Change (INECC).
“Everything starts with a free energy diagnosis that we give to companies, with which they will have an expert diagnosis and will make informed decisions,” said the manager.
The sustainable credit offered by Nafin has a period of eight years and periods of grace, that is, not all credits are paid from the first moment. The maximum amount is 15 million pesos.
When giving this financing with intermediaries, the interest rate has a maximum limit of 16%, a rate that Cornejo ensures that it is more competitive than the one that traditional banks give.
Nafin seeks that at least 1,200 companies in the country have this financing and that to date already carry 240 companies.
