“People are reading, they are knowing marijuana better, they are opting for scientific evidence instead of lies and conspiracy theories, the morality of prejudice and what has defined marijuana poorly,” he said.
Nacho Lozano recognized that although there are sectors of the population that consume marijuana without knowing its health effects, there are thousands of people throughout the country who need it to treat diseases such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, among other ailments, and who face a sea of procedures to obtain an amparo before the Federal Commission for the Protection Against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris) or in the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN).
He said that while the use of marijuana is regularized, today Mexico has thousands of people in jail accused of crimes they did not commit for possession and a serious public safety problem.

He even assured that there are other products such as drinks and foods high in sugar, alcoholic beverages and tobacco that are legal, free for sale, but that cause more damage to people’s health and represent a financial problem for the government.
“The damage caused by alcohol, sugar and tobacco, and the damage to the health sector, is normalized. There is no documented case in human history that has died from a marijuana overdose,” he added.
Although “We Want Mota” is already on sale in different bookstores and platforms, Nacho Lozano announced that on October 1 he will make the formal presentation of his book in Mexico.
