In coordination with the Uruguayan Festivals Program of the Territorial Management area of the National Directorate of Culture/MEC, a new edition of the Three Shores Festival will be held in the town of Villa 25 de Agosto, located in the department of Florida on the border with the departments of Canelones and San José.
The festival is recognized for its musical shows, offering a varied program that promotes local and regional artists. Those who participate can also enjoy a craft fair and a food court next to an amusement park for the little ones.
It is a festivity designed for all the inhabitants of the town and surrounding areas, where admission is free and collaboration bonuses are offered to access raffles with different prizes. Every year some five thousand people participate and part of the proceeds is donated to local institutions that work with children such as the school, the kindergarten, the high school and the baby football club.
Gira Música is an initiative of the National Institute of Music. The proposal seeks to promote the circulation of musicians in different parts of the country and its objectives are to encourage citizens to appropriate our music and, at the same time, make it visible and position it as a key component of the Uruguayan identity. Gira Música is coordinated in jointly with the Uruguayan Festivals program of the Territorial Management Area of the National Directorate of Culture and with municipalities and civil society organizations that carry out festivals throughout the national territory.
