The 100 years of Radio Music Festival in Brazil ends this Friday (4th) the voting for the new decisive stage in which a finalist composition will be defined by category, of the five in dispute in this edition.
Listeners and Internet users can vote on the festival website as many times as you want to choose your favorite works among the 50 classified for the semifinals. This is the first year that the event is jointly organized by Radio MEC and National Radio.
In addition to the five songs nominated by the audience in popular participation via the internet, the Judging Committee determines another ten, two per category, for the grand decision. The 15 finalists must be announced on Saturday (5), when the voting phase begins to appoint the winners.
The compositions are on the air during the programming according to the profile of the broadcasters of the Brazil Communication Company (EBC). The winners receive recognition in each of the five categories: Classical Music, Instrumental Music, Children’s Music, Popular Music and Regional Music.
End with stage show
The qualified works compete for prizes in a special show at Sala Cecília Meireles, in Rio de Janeiro. The presentation scheduled for December 6th brings together the artists to celebrate the final of the Music Festival 100 years of Radio in Brazil.
The laureate artists take their respective trophies: Rádio MEC Award for Best Classical Music, Rádio MEC Award for Best Instrumental Music, Rádio MEC Award for Best Children’s Music, Rádio Nacional Award for Best Popular Music and Rádio Nacional do Alto Solimões Award for Best Regional Music .
Talents and selection criteria
The first edition of the festival promoted in an integrated format by traditional public broadcasters Radio MEC and National Radio commemorates the centenary of the first radio broadcast in the country. The objective is to discover new musical talents and stimulate the launch of unpublished projects.
The jury’s analysis to select the works considers criteria such as the artistic quality of the work (music, lyrics, score and interpretation), the originality and the quality of the recording. The Judging Commission is made up of personalities of notorious knowledge or activity in the musical area and professionals from the EBC.
The authors of the productions registered in the festival authorize the execution in the Radio MEC and National Radioin addition to allowing broadcasting on affiliated stations that are part of the Public Radio Network, as well as on other vehicles of the EBCsuch as TV Braziland its digital platforms.
