The spokesperson for the Nicaraguan regime, Rosario Murilloexplained that the peanut exports grew 3.4 percent in 2022in relation to the year 2021. In his meridian intervention by the official media, Murillo reported that the Minister of Agriculture reported that in 2022 “peanut production was 4.9 million quintals in shell, 9 percent higher than 2021 production and an overcompliance of 8 percent in relation to the goal of the production plan.

“The total area of ​​cultivated peanuts is 70 thousand manzanas located mainly in the area of ​​León, Chinandega. Exports have grown 3.4 percent in value in relation to the previous year and an income of 107.1 million dollars has been generated for the national economy”, he indicated.

Given these data, Rosario Murillo attacked the Nicaraguan opposition, pointing it out “wanting to ignore and hide” the country’s economic growthbecause their opponents continue to make visible that the social and economic crisis that is prolonged in Nicaragua is the main reason why thousands of compatriots have decided to migrate.

According to data released by the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Nicaraguan migration reached record levels in 2022, a total of 217,091 people were detained when they tried to enter the United States illegally.

From September until the end of 2022, the numbers did not stop increasing, reaching a record of 35,490 Nicaraguans who were detained in December.
