The Vice President of Nicaragua, Rosario Murillo, echoed the eleventh edition of Nicaragua Diseña, her daughter’s fashion business, which was also sanctioned by the United States Camila Ortega Murillo.
The event will be held from October 21 to 23 at the Olof Palme Convention Center in Managua, organized and directed by Camila Ortega, who is the vice president’s personal assistant, coordinator of the Creative Economy Commission, director of Nicaragua Diseña and director of the official Channel 13.

“Today – Friday – we are celebrating the beginning of the eleventh edition of Nicaragua Diseña (…) and culminating on Sunday, October 23,” announced the first lady, who described the activity as a “great event for Nicaraguans.”
He pointed out that 40 national and 12 international designers will participate in this edition, «who come here —to Nicaragua— to present their collections, their colors, their creativity; everything that flourishes from the imagination and from freedom, dignity, brotherhood between our peoples…”.
“The designers have come from Venezuela, Brazil, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Panama, El Salvador and Honduras. This is a great achievement that each year brings together love, brings together the creativity of a people that has miraculous hands”, the deputy dictator stressed excitedly.
Since the creation of Nicaragua Diseña, the Ortega and Murillo regime has financed the event, money that sells it as one of the best kept secrets of the dictatorship. Although he receives the sponsorship of his family’s businesses, state institutions and Sandinista businessmen.
Enrollment 2023
In another order, Murillo reported that almost one million preschool, primary and secondary students enrolled for the 2023 academic year are being reached.
“There are 986 thousand 823 girls, boys, adolescents and young people already enrolled in this first week of enrollment, and we continue full of confidence in God that we always look to the future to the year 2023, for the greater victory of our people,” he said.

Regarding vaccination against COVID-19the wife of dictator Daniel Ortega reported that “almost 100,000 doses of inoculant” were applied this week.
“We have vaccinated 6,98,350 people over two years of age with at least one dose, and 90.5 complete vaccination plus 41.16 percent who have received additional doses, for a total of 95.2 coverage in house-to-house vaccination,” he added.
