The Vice President of Nicaragua, Rosario Murillo, justified the wave of repression during Holy Week —which has just ended—, stating that her regime worked to “guarantee peace among Nicaraguans.”
According to the Blue and White Monitoring (MAB), in the first nine days of April, the dictatorship of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo has arrested 21 people throughout the country.

For the spokeswoman for the Ortega government, the religious festivities of Semana Mayor were able to be enjoyed as a family, because according to her, one lives “in peace (…) That is why we bless God for peace and good, because we proclaim and preach peace.”
Without mentioning all the citizens detained in just seven days, including religious, political activists, activists and a journalist, the deputy dictator stated that her repressive apparatus “strengthens and safeguards peace.”
«Peace makes us strong, peace allows us to walk (…) because we are a blessed people. We feel so happy to have seen such an abundance of joy, tranquility and security in all spaces of enjoyment”, added the first lady.
He also took the opportunity to congratulate all the State institutions, especially the Police and the Nicaraguan Army, because he assures that these instances —indicated as accomplices in crimes against humanity— have worked “with joy, aware of the privilege that the Nicaraguan families of serviles, as we serve Christ, that is why we have mobilized in peace and security.
On the other hand, Murillo indicated that tomorrow, Tuesday, April 11, the different State institutions will be reporting the statistics of traffic accidents and people who lost their lives due to drowning during the holidays.

“We will also give statistics of what was avoided this week, from the coordinated work of the Army, the Police, the Ministry of the Interior, to guarantee that tranquility, that harmony and that wonder that is peace in our country,” the wife stressed. of the dictator Daniel Ortega.
During his address this Monday, April 10, Murillo said that this is a month to continue celebrating; and without referring to the five years of civic rebellion in the country, he said that “this is a month that we dedicate to peace” and that they will be celebrating “the national days of peace” in peace and well.
April has become a historic date for the Nicaraguan people, after the 2018 civic insurrection, which left more than 300 murdered, according to human rights organizations, but that the Ortega and Murillo administration assures that what took place was a failed attempt of a coup.
