Vice-dictator Rosario Murillo, in her speech at noon on August 8, confirmed that they expelled the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Brazil in Nicaragua, Breno de Souza Brazil Dias da Costawho held that position since June 2022.
“Today, Thursday, August 8, the Brazilian ambassador to Nicaragua, Mr. Breno de Souza Brasil Dias da Costa, has left our country,” Murillo said without specifying that it was an expulsion or giving reasons for the decision.
According to a report by the Brazilian media outlet Folha de S. Paulo, diplomat Breno de Souza Brasil Dias da Costa received an order from Ortega to leave Nicaraguan territory at the end of July, in retaliation for his failure to attend the 45th Anniversary of the Sandinista Revolution.

The vice-dictator of Nicaragua also confirmed that “Ambassador Fulvia Castro – Nicaragua’s representative in Brazil – is on her way to our Nicaragua,” but she also did not explain that the official’s departure occurred in response to the repressive action they had against the Brazilian representative.
Mefcca minister beheaded
Murillo stressed that Fulvia Castro, a member of Ortega, who is now out of her post as ambassador, will assume the role of the new head of the Ministry of Family, Community, Cooperative and Associative Economy (Mefcca) upon arriving in the country, thus confirming the purge of Justa Pérez Acuña, also a member of Ortega, who was recently reported to have been removed from her post, although the removal has not been officially announced in the official newspaper La Gaceta.

The vice-dictator announced the appointment, stressing that this will be carried out “once the appointment has been formalised by our president”, that is, through a presidential agreement that must be published in La Gaceta.
Justa Pérez Acuña, now ex-minister of Mefcca, according to a report by 100% Noticias, was dismissed and arrested this week under the argument of an investigation in which she is linked to alleged acts of “corruption” related to loans that were granted in the “Adelante” program.
