The Vice President of Nicaragua, Rosario Murillo, announced this Thursday, March 16, the launch of the housing program called “Nuevas Victorias”, which will be developed in various parts of the country with the support of its communist ally China.
“We want to announce that at the end of the month —March— and at the beginning of April we will be launching the “Nuevas Victorias” housing program,” announced the also government communication coordinator in her regular phone call to related media.

He stressed that the project contemplates the construction of more than 14,000 homes and in each of the departments it will be called “Urbanización Nuevas Victorias”, one of the daily phrases of his regime, even in the midst of the repression against Nicaraguans.
However, Murillo did not specify the budget for the new urbanization program, he only limited himself to saying that “in April we began construction, and building peace in this April of so many new victories.”
«We will have (urbanization) New Victorias in Estelí, Madriz, Nueva Segovia, León, Chinandega, Managua, Carazo (….), in Granada, Masaya, Rivas, Boaco, Chontales, Matagalpa, Jinotega, Carie Norte and Caribe Sur, Río San Juan”, listed the spokeswoman for the dictator Daniel Ortega.
Without specifying the land in the capital where the urbanization will be built, Murillo reported that “the site will be delivered at the beginning of next month, thus marking the start of works here in Managua, where 3,300 homes will be built, built in new victories of peace and good.

He explained that the new houses are one-story with two bedrooms, and that urbanizations throughout the country will have streets, communal areas, electricity, drinking water, sanitary drainage, and storm drainage.
The “budget secret” project was launched by the dictatorship in April, the month in which five years ago the civic rebellion took place that left a balance, according to human rights organizations, of more than 300 murdered.
Prior to these historic dates, Murillo intensifies the tone of insults against opponents and the international community or carries out activities with the purpose of lessening or downplaying the sociopolitical crisis that the country has been experiencing since 2018.
