Muriel Summers calls on businessmen to become actively involved in improving education in the country

Muriel Summers, creator of the Líder en Mí program and international authority on the transformation of education, ended her visit to Panama by calling on businessmen to become actively involved in improving education in the country. “The success of every nation depends on how well our children are, physically, academically and emotionally,” said Summers in one of her keynote speeches, which was attended by representatives of the business sector in addition to educational authorities and teachers.

In Panama, the Leader in Me program is carried out in thirty schools, of which twenty-seven are official, and are part of the Escuelas Líderes por Panamá project, a social responsibility program through which a company has the opportunity to sponsor the implementation of the model , contributing to improve the quality of education of our future leaders.

On her last day of visit, Muriel Summers went to West Panama, where she was received with emotion by students from the San José de Malambo School and the Fuente de Amor School, schools that are part of the Leading Schools for Panama project. Hundreds of children and young people came together to celebrate with typical dances, expressing the positive impact that the program has had on their lives. “My heart is full of joy and love to see you achieve living the seven habits so clearly, and to know you are leading in everything you do, thank you so much for giving me this,” Muriel Summers said, visibly moved.
The tour closed in the Colegio de Panamá auditorium, with a full house and where Summers was able to exchange experiences with professors, alumni and students from different educational centers that implement the program. The Leader in Me is a whole-school transformation process and model developed in collaboration with educators that empowers students with the leadership and life skills they need to thrive in the 21st century.
